Mario 3d All Stars Switch

Mario about to land on a Character Switch with his emblem on it in Really Rolling Hills

A Character Switch[1] is a type of P Switch that first appears in Super Mario 3D World. Each switch has a character emblem on it for Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, or Rosalina; only the character whose emblem is shown can press the switch. When the switch is pressed, in most cases a stamp will appear, but they can also reveal a Green Star or a line of coins.

Character emblems[edit]

  • Mario switch: Depicts a red 'M' emblem; appears in Really Rolling Hills and Blast Block Skyway.
  • Luigi switch: Depicts a green 'L' emblem; appears in A Beam in the Dark.
  • Princess Peach switch: Depicts an emblem of Peach's crown; appears in Pretty Plaza Panic.
  • Toad switch: Depicts a emblem of Toad's head; appears in Backstreet Bustle and Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run.
  • Rosalina switch: Depicts a Grand Star emblem; appears in Rolling Ride Run.

Trivia[edit]

  • The only Character Switches that yield something other than stamps are the Toad switch in Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run (which gives out a Green Star) and the Mario switch in Blast Block Skyway (which activates a line of coins).
  • The Character Switches' stamps are always of the respective character's Small form.
  • Luigi's switch is the only one not found in a level with an alliterative title.
